Distance Education Now Available for All Courses
To allow the maximum flexibility for students who live across the western Pennsylvania region, and to be prepared for any restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Baptist Institute announces our new Flex-Course format:
- Students listen to lectures online at their convenience. Lectures follow the ten-week course format, usually one hour per week.
- Reading and written assignments are completed at home and submitted electronically.
- Exams are completed online in the presence of a proctor. Students may also take exams in person at the Institute if a proctor is not available.
- Each month of the term, a three-hour live discussion forum will be held on the dates indicated in the Course Schedule. Students may join the discussion in person or online. Attendance is mandatory: the forum provides opportunity for group discussion, questions, and feedback on assignments.
Scholarship Opportunities for SBC Members in Pennsylvania/South New Jersey
Members of churches cooperating with the Baptist Resource Network of Pennsylvania/South Jersey (BRN) may be eligible for financial assistance to pay for Baptist Institute classes. The BRN is partnering with the Baptist Institute to promote Baptist theological education for church leaders and members, particularly those in western Pennsylvania. Members of BRN (and SBC) cooperating churches can apply for financial assistance for Baptist Institute classes by contacting the Institute for an application form. Applications will be considered by the BRN on a first-come, first-served basis particularly for students with demonstrated financial need whose home churches are not able to provide assistance. The Baptist Institute welcomes opportunities to partner with other Baptist associations to the benefit of all students of Baptist and like-minded churches.
